The Educational & Livelihood Assistance to Sri Lankan communities in need project was successfully launched in June 2014 by Chairman of Lycamobile Mr.Subashkaran Allirajah, Mrs. Gannabigai Allirajah and Co-founder Mrs.Prema Subashkaran The 1st phase of the project commenced with the implementation of livelihood cash grant disbursement of Rs 100,000 to each beneficiary. This grant went to 80 selected beneficiaries from 8 districts of north and east Sri Lanka.
The distribution of tricycles commenced in the Mullaitivu & Kilinochchi districts this wee with distribution activity continuing in other districts.
During Lyca’s Gnanam Foundation District Branch office opening ceremony, 80 wheelchairs were distributed to physically impaired individuals. The participants at the district branch opening ceremony made a request to Gnanam Foundation Founders Mrs.Gnanmabigai Allirajah and Lycamobile Chairman Mr.Subashkaran Allirajah to provide tricycles which could increase the mobility of physically impaired individuals and will also increase their confidence and likelihood of generating income of their own by selling lottery tickets, fish, vegetables and many other items.
